Spring Tool Suite and Groovy/Grails Tool Suite 3.5.0.M1 released

Dear Spring Community,

I am happy to announce the first milestone release 3.5.0.M1 of the Spring Tool Suite (STS) and the Groovy/Grails Tool Suite (GGTS).

Highlights from this milestone build include:

  • improved new dashboard (news feeds are back)
  • new advanced content-assist for Spring Boot projects
  • support for new client side getting started guides
  • support for Groovy 2.2
  • updated to Grails 2.3.4
  • updated to tc Server 2.9.4

Both tool suites ship on top of the latest Eclipse Kepler SR1 release.

Spring Data Release Train Babbage - SR2 released

The Spring Data team has just released the second service release for the Babbage release train. It includes the following modules:

The release bundles a bunch of important enhancements and bug fixes and is a recommended upgrade. You can find all issues fixed in this release in our JIRA.

The next step will be the second milestone of the Codd release train. More details about that here

Spring Framework 4.0 RC2 available

Spring 4.0 RC2 has been released and is now available from the SpringSource repository.

This will be the final release candidate before GA, so please give it a try and let us know if you find any issues.

If you are Maven user you may be interested in the new "bill of materials" POM that we have published with this release. You can import the spring-framework-bom project in your dependency management section to ensure that you get consistent Spring Framework dependencies. Spring Integration 3.0 Release Candidate 1 is Now Available

We are extremely pleased to announce that Spring Integration 3.0.0.RC1 is now available in the Spring Milestone Repo

This release uses Spring Framework 3.2.5 by default but is also compatible with Spring 3.1.x and 4.0.x.

##First, a Note About Spring Framework 4 Support

Spring Framework 4.0 has a new spring-messaging module that contains a number of key abstractions from Spring Integration.

Spring Integration 3, while being compatible with Spring Framework 4, does not depend on it, and does not use these classes, so that it can also be used with Spring Framework 3.2 and 3.1.

Spring Batch 2.2.3.RELEASE is now available

First milestone of Spring Data release train Codd released

We welcome two new members to the train: the Spring Data Solr community project as well as Spring Data REST. We've fixed 109 tickets for this first milestone. Spring Data Couchbase 1.0 M2 released

On behalf of module lead Michael Nitschinger, I am pleased to announce the availability of milestone two of the Spring Data module for Couchbase.

This new release brings both feature enhancements and bugfixes, taking the library full steam to a release candidate soon. Highlights of this release are custom @View annotations on repository finder methods and better marshaling support for dates, enums and class types. Also, the underlying Couchbase Java Client has been updated to the latest 1.2.2 versions, bringing better rebalance stability and performance improvements. This M2 release is available from the Spring IO milestone repository

Spring for Apache Hadoop 1.0.2 GA and 2.0 M2 released

We are happy to announce the Spring for Apache Hadoop 1.0.2 GA and 2.0 M2 milestone releases.

Both of these releases provide bug fixes, upgraded Spring project versions and support for the new Pivotal HD 1.1 release. The 1.0.2 release adds support for the new Hadoop 2.2 stable release. The 2.0.0.M2 release provides support for CDH4 YARN clusters and an improved implementation for the HdfsResourceLoader (this implementation will be back-ported to the next 1.0.3 GA release).
